President Obonjo the Idi Amin of St Albans is a strong comic premise.
President Obonjo is a great comic construct with lots of seized opportunities for playing the cliches" - Steve Bennett, Chortle
super entertaining comedy drag act
An act that's a little different from the norm. A political and public figure satire clown impressionist that doesn't actually even say a word. Takes you on a journey from Donald Trump to amongst many others, Margaret Thatcher, Boris and Mary Berry. A human Spitting Image where the outrageousness is celebrated, underlined and lampooned.
Winner Oxjam's Tavern's Got Talent 2016
Winner New Act of the Year 2017 (Formally Hackney Empire) (second place)
TIME OUT MAGAZINE :
"Best of all is a heat where a drag Donald Trump takes to the stage"
"TV TV did a Mary Poppins pulling out a series of looks from a tiny bag, switching effortlessly between Donald Trump and Boris Johnson cutting their comments on immigration together into a topical and entertaining performance, with added Elton John for glam."
"somewhere between camp drag cabaret and paper costume quick-change artiste Ennio Marchetto, but is very much unique… and very silly." Steve Bennett
CLASSICAL SINGER, MUSIC EDUCATOR, WRITER, COMEDIAN, ACTOR
Hailed by the Albany Times Union as, “Especially impressive.... even while delivering some swooping and percussive vocal affects,” soprano Delea Shand sings everything from opera, new music, musical theatre and comedy. Since moving to London in 2015, she's performed several times as a soloist with the Central Band of the Royal British Legion, with Bafta award winning conductor David Cole. Recently, she devised and performed in Ancient Voices of Women, a concert of music for solo voice by female composers. She has also performed with the new music ensembles New London Chamber Choir and the Vocal Constructivists. Recently, Delea started performing stand up comedy on the open mic circuit in London, where she sings opera and plays the accordion. Operissima called her act, "Brilliantly memorable." She's headlined at G&B comedy and Sam Rhodes Comedy Explosion, and recently performed at The Glory.
