hugely entertaining /compelling

In 2014 the Guardian called Rob “a genuine original” after seeing his Edinburgh fringe show The Face Show (an hour long comedy/theatre show about faces). In 2013 Rob won the ‘Dave Funniest Joke of The Fringe’ award with a gag about Chinese Wispas. On the day the news broke, Rob spoke to Vanessa Feltz on Radio 2, the conversation resulting in her saying “that’s just sad”, a quote that will stick with Rob forever.Rob has had two collections of writing and illustrations published by Burning Eye books and has had his poetry turned into short films and shown on Channel 4. Rob also starred in and co-wrote the short film The Peamaster which was nominated for best short film at the 2012 Milan Film Festival. He was shortlisted for the 2015 Arts Foundation Spoken Word Prize in association with the Southbank Centre. His first Soho Theatre run will take place in Spring 2015.Rob was a finalist for The Arts Foundation Spoken Word Award and is a regular poet at top spoken word night Bang Said the Gun. ‘Yes, The Sleep Show is intelligent, perceptive, and deeply profound. But it’s also hilarious.’★★★★★Broadway Baby‘

Entirely compelling to watch.’Daniel Kitson“Charming, eccentric and uplifting, Auton is a talent to watch”The Independent“poetical, philosophical, humane, completely charming and funny to boot”The Guardian“Comedy could use a few more Rob Autons – unafraid of sincerity and all the better for it.”★★★★★The Skinny

We need him”The Scotsman“Few artists have ever managed to consistently provide me with such joy and pleasure as Rob Auton. I always leave in awe of how good he is”Scroobius Pip“Exactly the kind of show you should see at the fringe, the memory will stay with you for a long long time”The Scotsman“Gaunt and deliberate”Newsweek

 exciting funnyman

Tom Houghton is one very funny quarter of The UK’s premier improved comedy troupe The Noise Next Door. They have taken the comedy world by storm and leave audiences everywhere in awe of their lightning-quick wit and totally original comedic talents.
Appearances have followed on BBC One, BBC Three, ITV1, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 4, they were nominated for a Chortle Award in 2014, and have performed alongside the likes of Michael McIntyre, Al Murray, and Harry Hill. Tom is now a hilarious stand up in his own right and combines a quick with with an easy charisma and talent for the funnies.
