exciting /hilarious Award-winning all round showman
Otiz Cannelloni combines the illusion of magic and the wit of stand up to produce a hybrid comic creation. With a mind more suited to testing crash helmets, his performance fluctuates between sheer genius and downright stupidity. Just when you suspect he doesn’t have a clue, Cannelloni removes all doubt. When this man is on stage the dressing room empties, as the rest of the comics rush to watch and learn from his mistakes. It’s taken years of practice to make something so simple look so difficult. Despite various television appearances – The Stand Up Show BBC 1, Stuff The White Rabbit BBC 2, producers are prepared to forgive and forget, mostly forget. Still, there’s always the alloment – if it stops raining! “Master of Mirth and Minimalist Magic …Delightful.” Time Out

What the press have said about Matt Price ★★★★ Kate Copstick, The Scotsman”Fearlessly funny”"when the laughs do come, they tend to be big, explosive ones, since they burst naturally from these characters, not bolted-on punchlines...extraordinary" ★★★★★ Broadway Baby"demonstrating that you can be an absolute gentleman, and yet remain absolutely hilarious....insightful and very funny," ★★★★★ One4review"A lovely rapport with the audience, good pace, rhythm, a wide and appropriate vocabulary, excellent structure and plot, and he’s articulate and personable and friendly...I don’t understand why he isn’t better known.”★★★★ Artshub Australia"one of the best storytellers on the circuit." “Storytelling comedy, necessitates a level of honesty I like. And Price is one of the best at it around.” - Scotland on Sunday
brilliant Russian comedian
Oleg, I'm an international touring comedian from Moscow. I will be in and around London around Apr 28-May 5 in between a European tour and Brighton Fringe festival, and I was wondering if it might be possible for me to get a spot on any shows at Monkey Business during that time. Please see my bio and clip below, really hope to hear from you. Thanks for your time!
Oleg Denisov is a Moscow-based satirical comedian, one of Russia’s most experienced stand-up on UK festival circuit (100+ full hour shows in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Reading etc), and philosopher by training. A self-described “absurdo-satirist”, Oleg is a seasoned international performer with two full solo runs at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and many appearances in UK's and European comedy clubs; he also runs a weekly international comedy night “Stand-up Cellar” in the centre of Moscow.
"Expect razor-sharp insight and rapid-fire laughs" – Manchester Evening News.
“Denisov is quick-fire funny and leads you along some curious byways with shocks and surprises on the way!” – Vin Arthey, The Scotsman.
“Impressive… enjoyable and interesting hour” – Marissa Burgess, The List.
“A good dose of satire from Russian perspective. In turns intelligently political… and very silly. From Orwell, Dostoyevsky and Chekhov to some puns that Tim Vine would be proud of” – Fringepig magazine.
“Funny and political without being preachy, and as tightly written as any show you might see” – Sam Rhodes, touring comedian (UK).
“Preternaturally funny and brutally intelligent… totally unique!” – Ellyn Daniels, TV producer (USA).
